Safety Requirements
Worksafe Certificates:
You are required to provide two WorkSafe Certificates when applying to join CareerLink. These Certificates are compulsory and are required by your host employer prior to commencing in the workplace. To do this, you must log on to the WorkSafe web site http://www.worksafe.wa.gov.au/pagebin/edcnwssm0018.htm and next, access the Smart Move icon. Firstly, read through the instructions, learn the information and attempt the Self Assessment Test. You are required to provide a Certificate to prove that you have passed the General Package test and the specific industry component.

Select from the following industry specific safety certificates:-
+ Building and Construction
+ Community Services
+ Electrical and Electronics
+ Hairdressing
+ Hospitality and Tourism
+ Manufacturing
+ Metals and Engineering
+ Office and Business Services
+ Primary Industry/ Natural Resources
+ Retail

Check that you have provided the two WorkSafe Certificates:
1. General WorkSafe Certificate
2. Industry Specific Certificate

Work Safely in the Construction Industry – White Card:

This unit, CPCCOHS1101A of competency specifies the outcomes required to undertake Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) induction training within the construction industry.
It requires the ability to demonstrate personal awareness of OHS legislative requirements, and the basic principles of risk management and prevention of injury and illness in the construction industry.
Licensing requirements will apply to this unit of competency depending on the regulatory requirements of each jurisdiction.
